General Registration is Not Required to Sign up for Tours and Sessions

San Francisco, CA (April 9, 2012) – The California Preservation Foundation (CPF) will host its 37th Annual California Preservation Conference – Old Roots, New Growth: Cultivating Communities – May 3-6, 2012, in Oakland.

The California Preservation Conference provides a once-a-year opportunity for professionals and grass-roots community organizers to learn about new and on-going preservation initiatives and activities throughout the state. Participants enjoy an opportunity to network, while sponsors and volunteers benefit from contributing to the success of this not-to-be-missed statewide historic preservation event.

Of special interest to the Alameda community are three local study tours scheduled May 3rd that include Alameda locations. Alameda Theater is featured in a tour called “From Fox to Pfluegar: Golden Age of Theaters”. The Meyers House is included in”Ground-breaking Women at Three Restored East Bay Historic Houses”. “WWII to Present: Reusing Structures of the Past” will be a combination bus, home and walking tour narrated by Dick Rutter at Alameda Naval Air Station. Participants may select either a visit to The Hornet or a wine tasting tour at Rock Wall. All three tours will cost $40 each and registration for the conference is not required.

For more information about the Conference, Study Tours and other events that may be attended by paying individual admission fees, please visit CPF’s website at www.californiapreservation.org or call at (415) 495-0349. Registration is closing soon so it is
recommended that interested individuals take action quickly.
